my spring break..

Well I can honestly say that it was not that exciting except for the beginning ..that Friday my best friend got married and it turned out to be really great. The wedding reception was a blast and everything turned out wonderful and I am really happy for her. I also went Downtown Cleveland for the parade which was also a blast. One of my good friends has an apartment on West 9th so we just parked there and enjoyed the parade.

Other then that I was stuck in Kent working Thursday- Saturday..luckily I love most of the people I work with so I was entertained the whole time..

Easter was family time and I got to catch up with everyone, which is always a good time

Now back to school with only 6 weeks left..YAY!

Hope everyone had a good break:)

My fav..dj..

That is honestly a hard question. I dont really listen to the radio much because one of my fav activities to do is make great cd mixes. When I am getting ready for work or class i tend to listen to 104.1. I am not even sure what the djs name is but I like listening to the different questions that they ask. One question that i remember listen to is what did 65% of men do yesterday that they will not admit and the answer was watch "Oprah". That is one thing that I would have never guessed. They also occasionally have people send in their playlists on their ipods and play them. It is intersting to hear different types of music that others listen to.

Oh ya and i secretly listen to delilah occasionally....but we will keep that on the d/l..haha

How I Argue in Real Life..

I would have to admit that one of my weakness is that I tend to yell at people without hearing the whole story---something i def. get from my mother. I am a very opininated person, but I also love having long intimate convos with others as well. I tend t state what I believe and then listen actively while the person I am arguing with states what they believe. Then I automatically come back with reasons why I am right. I wish that I could accept what others say instead of always seeking a reason to contradict them. Arguing is something that i def. need to get better at esp. when it comes to my future career as a teacher. Any suggestions???

dear punk rock activists...

I found this letter to be very inspiring. Andy Cornell seems like the type of person whos "music is their existance". The fact that he is not writing to a single person but to the whole genre of punk rock is incredible. He gives reasoning to why punk rock has been so inspiring to him. I liked when he gave examples of how he did not know when he became so passionate about the whole punk rock scene, it could have been on many different occasions. Obviously this these artists (that he includes in the letter) songs have made some impact on his life. For me, that is what music should be about. Hearing a song that relates to the difficult times in your life and knowing you are not alone is something that I personally strive on.
What I did not understand about the letter is; what kind of change does he want to see? All types of music make some sort of statement and music typically (not always) identifys who you are. So basically what I am saying is in his letter who could have specified what exactly he wants to happen and have suggestions on what to do.
But overall I thought this was an interesting letter. You can tell it came straight from his heart and also can tell how passionate he really is about making a change!

KSU..shovel ur sidwalks

One thing for sure has been pissing me off that I would like to add. Kent State expecting their students to go to class when their are sheets of ice everywhere. Today for example, not only did I almost fall (thankfully I caught myself), but I saw three people on my way from the C Lot to White Hall fall straight on their butts and one woman who was older, hurt herself fairly badly. Yes it would be nice if we could have as many snow days as possible, but come on if you expect us to get to class ok...shovel the sidewalks..hire more help if you can, its the least the university can do for as much money tuition is every year.....

what pisses me off

One thing that pisses me off more then anything is the war in Iraq. I feel that we have already done everything that we can over there. We need to send our troops home and that is the bottom line. This country needs so much improvement already and it needs to take place in our own country not anywhere else. So many liveshave already been taken over this mess and my heart truly goes out to their families. This country is just focused on power--and yes to some extent I think it is important for our country to be powerful and strong. So many people are living in poverty and that is something that needs to be improved. That should be our main focus, not trying to show how "badass" we are to other countries.

College Writing 2..intro

Hi! My name is Christina Warman and i am a sophmore here at Kent State. I am studying to be a high school english teacher and it is something that I have been very passionate about all of my life. I am from Richmond Heights, which is a suburb of Cleveland and is a fairly small town. I was very active in high school and was involved in many clubs and sports.
By taking this class I hope to improve my writing skills in many ways. Writing is an area that I enjoy very much but is something that I constantly am looking for feedback on ways to improve. I am looking forward to this semester (minus the whole 7:45am starting time) and am hoping for the best.
